GRANNY,S GOSSIP: Long Day Saturday hockey from 10 till 5.30 seen some fine games though. R 2 LADIES; Was expecting some fun and games as this was their first on the grass for a long while, but they adjusted back to the junior skills after realizing that you have to be a little more upright and got on with what they do best, that,s playing great team hockey, Nick and Spud controlled the center and Amie and Lisa had the wings covered. Bloody Jenny was her usual bollocking self (tough player her) saved a shot but gave away a penalty stroke, which Hannah did her best to stop unfortunately went in. A huge 5/1 win against Norths. Had a couple of juniors subbing in and they fitted in with the ladies nicely. A RESERVE, A very attacking game from them pressured into the circle quite a lot, however missing the box quite a lot as well, These kinks will be worked out by finals time as you all are playing so well. Assisting each other and giving great ball service. From the start of the season till now each game has become a huge improvement, should be proud ladies. A 2/0 win against bellbowrie/thistles. A2 LADIES; Playing Norths we continually attacked and were unfortunate to have not scored over and over, strong defense by Norths the only thing in the way. Every one ran their butts of and Terresa made a great save and then was in position to save the next. The girls are getting back to help which is good to see. a nil all draw. Unlucky not to have won. This team is becoming quite a good controlled unit. Good Job Ladies. A GRADE; Last game of the day, was worth sitting to watch, with several players missing on both sides (rep) we had to call up 7 res players who I might add had just finished their own game, but they did not disappoint. A couple of great saves from Bear kept Hancocks scoreless and the release to the forwards was good, We must have had at least a hundred short corners (Seemed like it) for no result. Can we change it up at all? Bridget has a nice strong hit, but when the opposition is continually defending this just try something different. Push a little more to the side to allow the posties to deflect in or attack the keeper for the rebound. Have we no one in there who can drag flick? Bring up both Bridget and Jess who can flog the casing off and use a lay away to each other. A nice welcome back to Foxie, ran herself ragged as usual. Hope all the team is back next week as its time to settle into a good strong playing team. A 2/0 nil Win.
