GRANNY’S GOSSIP: Finally got the energy up to go and watch the A 2 Ladies Friday night 8.30 . Definitely worth the wait. A very fine well structured unit, giving the ball well and receiving in the correct manner to go forward. Defense was very solid with Terresa making some fine saves in rapid succession, actually saw myself this week , Kath very strong in the centre backed up by T at the fullback role, and a cracker of a goal from ronnie. A healthy 3/0 win against collegians each and every player out there were worthy of a mention but cant possibly name the whole lot of you GREAT JOB TEAM. E GRADE. My my these girls are going from strength to strength, we have a couple of little speedsters who have the energy to keep on keeping on, a very hot saturday morning but they persevered and socked it to hancocks 7/0. D GRADE again playing on the grass in the heat, they dominated for most of the game only defending about 2/3 times. Every one of them are improving greatly and hitting their peak at the right end of the season . a 4/0 win against norths. RESERVE GRADE. The first of their double header saturday afternoon against Thistles, was expecting a bit of a tussle with a few newies in Thistles who are playing well, however they took it in stride and overpowered them with skill and determination a 3/1 win , Second game sunday not there to see but hear they kept on keeping on and the result of a 2/2 draw against hancocks was the result. This side has become well disciplined with a bit of mongrel added, making them a force to be reckoned with. R 2 LADIES, Having a few players out with work and u/11 commitments was expecting a closer result, was sure of the win as they all hate getting beaten but against Thistles who are just as keen to win thought maybe a tighter game. a 3/0 nil win and a mention by the coach that Spud was as solid as ever making great saves, and little Jazz who ran down Kerry and made her mad (ha ha) goals to Laura and Amie, these two are getting on into finals mode early, keep it up all you ladies. A GRADE Unable to attend this game but by all accounts was it not very favorable to our girls a drubbing by hancocks 8/0 . Perhaps sooner or later we will have a complete team to play, has not been a good season for attendances, with prior commitments and injuries, still in the finals hunt as we will make the 4 but need to get all there and especially at training. Even the coach has been missing throughout the year. Keep your heads up and come back better next week.
